Week 1 :

Forest Friends & Hidden Homes

Dates: Monday July 13 - Friday July 17, 2026

Hours: 8:30am - 4pm

Location: Balsam Park

This week focuses on forest ecosystems and the animals that live among the trees.
Children learn how creatures find food, shelter, and safety in the forest.

Themed activites:

  • Animal tracks and scat identification

  • Learn about local forest mammals

  • Build small animal shelters or bug hotels

  • Camouflage and hide-and-seek games

  • Forest listening walk

Daily Schedule:

8:30am - 10am Themed activites and play at Balsam Park

10am - 2pm Daily adventures (biking and swimming)

3pm - 4pm Crafting at Balsam Park


Children explore the journey of water through mountains, rivers, and lakes.
The week nurtures respect for water as a life-giving and shared resource.

Themed Activites:

  • Creek and lake exploration

  • Floating and sinking experiments

  • Water cycle movement game

  • Frog and fish life studies

  • Watercolour painting inspired by lakes

This week introduces simple land-based skills and caring for nature responsibly.
Children learn how humans can live gently and thoughtfully with the Earth

Themed Activites:

  • Shelter building with natural materials

  • Nature weaving and cordage making

  • Learn useful local plants (age appropriate)

  • Tool-free building challenges

The week builds curiosity, strength, and respect for mountain landscapes.

Themed Activites:

  • Rock and pebble sorting

  • Build mini mountains with sand and water

  • Mountain animal movement games

  • Simple map-making of trails

Birds of the Sky & Forest

Hours: 8:30am - 4pm

Children explore the lives of birds, learning how they fly, sing, and build nests.
The week nurtures careful observation, listening skills, and respect for wildlife

Themed Activites:

  • Bird watching with simple ID cards

  • Learn common local birds and their calls

  • Build simple bird feeders or nests (model only)

  • Feather sorting and drawing
