Hi! I’m Elizabeth, and I’m the founder of Wildflower Nature Camp. My journey working with children began over ten years ago, when I completed a co-op placement in a kindergarten classroom during high school. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for helping children grow, learn, and connect—with each other and the natural world.
I soon realized I could blend my love of working with children and the outdoors, which led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Recreation, Parks, and Tourism at Lakehead University. While at university, I gained hands-on experience leading after-school programs in Thunder Bay and working as a lead counsellor at Gryphons Sports Camps in Guelph, Ontario.
After graduating, I joined the team at Free Bird Nature School in Elora, Ontario, where I worked as a Nature School Educator, deepening my appreciation for play-based, child-led learning in natural settings. I then completed my Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University, specializing in Outdoor and Experiential Learning.
For the past four years, I’ve been lucky to teach primary school here in beautiful Whistler, BC. I’m so excited to bring my experience, energy, and love of nature to this camp, and to offer a space where kids can explore, create, and thrive outdoors.
